Through the lens of providing person-centered care, this program focuses on creating awareness among current and future healthcare providers in the health and wellness of the LGBTQ+ community. 

The second hour of the program gives practical guidance and supports innovative methods for incorporating a variety of existing tools related to enhancing cultural humility and meeting interprofessional cultural competencies within the care of the LGBTQ+ community. This hour is specifically for health and human service educators and leaders. 

Global Objectives

  1. Discuss the current trends in incorporating PCC in the care of the LGBTQ+ community. 
  2. Identify strategies that address barriers to implementing PCC
  3. Apply current evidence-based practice and resources of PCC across sectors
  4. Compare and contrast innovative strategies to implement to enhance cultural humility and meet interprofessional competencies in the care of the LGBTQ+ community.
